Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3) (1975)

The C3 was Chrysler’s third generation of its now famous ‘Stingray’ design – patterned on the original Mako Shark II concept car – also at one point known as the ‘Manta Ray’ – designed & developed by the Larry Shinoda & Bill Mithchell duo. – David Holis & Harry Haga’s of Chevrolet Design & Styling House -  took it over, abandoned the mid-engine format and rebuilt on the existing Stingray chassis.

The little gem we have for sale was imported into the UK in 2017 & purchased by the current owner in the same year.  Not a great deal was known of its prior life other than the last US owner had the car for some 32 years prior to export. Our UK owners plan was a total rebuild, so he joined the ever growing waiting list of the restorer Tony Hawk - and post two years in dehumidified storage made top of the list in early 2020.

The car had an MOT on its arrival into the UK in 2017 & passed without advisories – copy in file. A new MOT will be commissioned at point of sale for client peace of mind!

Tony’s restoration is nothing short of amazing. The original V8 350 – 5.7 litre engine –  mated to its Holly downdraft carburettor & producing some 350 bhp -  was removed & reconditioned – a chassis up restoration of the bodywork was undertaken & all brakes, ball joints, suspension etc.. was reconditioned or replaced with NOS parts where available.

The car has retained its original radio, air conditioning & soft top which is in excellent condition - & a new bespoke stainless steel exhaust system was fitted. It has standard electronic ignition with timing set & new plugs fitted. All emission controls have thankfully been removed!

So, if this is your bag you'll be one of only a small minority on today's UK roads and will surely attract some admiring glances!

1000cc Moto Guzzi SP (Spada) Motorcycle(1985)

In addition to our impeccable car selection Royston’s have begun to attract a number of quite rare motorcycles.

This magnificent 1000cc Moto Guzzi machine has only had 2 prior owners – the last, being one Eric Richard – the Film, Theatre & Television Actor – best known for his role of Desk Sergeant Bob Cryer in The Bill – but equally familiar to those in the acting profession for his roles in theatre’s  ‘A Christmas Carol’ – TV’s ‘Juliet Bravo’ & ‘Open All Hours’ & Film’s ‘Stutterer’ (Academy Award winner) & ‘Dunkirk’.

Eric really enjoyed this machine – riding it extensively with his wife across Europe - & spent many hours improving its performance with the fitting of Twin Spark Heads & 36mm Del Orto carburettors.

Its stunning condition & technical performance is a glowing testament to its prior ownership & would be equally appreciated ‘on display’ or ‘back on the open road’ – I know what I’d prefer….

Rickman Matisse Mk 1 Scrambler (1959)

We are very selective when it comes to marketing motorcycles - but from time to time a unique offering presents itself – this amazing machine being a case in point.

Although we have yet to prove provenance – it would appear that this bike may in fact be the long lost Rickman Brothers initial offering in the form of the Mk1 Rickman Matisse.

From our research we can confirm that all the components used to manufacture this bike are true to those we understand were available to the Rickman Brothers at the time, being:

Engine: Triumph Tiger 100 twin: TRIBSA SPL - 23A1 6KB

Gearbox: BSA stamped STD - Frame #: FA7 11832 (59)

Front Forks: Norton - Oil Tank: Gold Star

Gas flow head, Aerial wheels, hubs & swing arm.

Should our investigations prove positive – then this is one amazing piece of British motorcycle folklore & a bargain to boot!
